Iran Says Missiles Hit US Military Base in Kuwait, Destroyed Drone Hangar

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said on Tuesday it targeted US military sites in Kuwait and Bahrain with missile and drone strikes, including an air base, radar facilities and a Patriot defense system. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said on Tuesday it carried out missile and drone strikes against US military sites in Kuwait and Bahrain, claiming it destroyed or damaged radar, communications and air defense facilities. The IRGC said the attacks targeted Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait, where it claimed to have struck an MQ-9 drone hangar and destroyed or severely damaged several drones. The force also said the attack destroyed a long-range radar installation, a communications centre, satellite-receiving systems and a US missile-defense radar at the base. In a separate statement, the IRGC claimed it had destroyed a US radar facility and a Patriot air-defense system in Bahrain. The IRGC said the attacks were part of the second phase of the 24th wave of its Operation Nasr 2, adding that its military operations were continuing. The claims could not be independently verified, and the IRGC did not provide details about possible casualties or the extent of damage caused by the reported strikes. The reported attacks come amid a sharp escalation in military confrontation between Iran and the United States. Washington has intensified strikes against targets in Iran in recent days, while Tehran has retaliated by targeting facilities and military bases it says are being used by US forces across the Gulf and the wider region. The latest exchange of fire has raised concerns that the conflict could spread further across the Middle East, potentially threatening regional security, military installations and international shipping routes. The escalation comes despite a Pakistan-brokered memorandum of understanding reportedly signed by Iran and the United States in June aimed at ending the conflict and paving the way for a lasting peace agreement. Neither the US nor Kuwaiti or Bahraini authorities had immediately commented on the IRGC’s latest claims at the time of publication.
