Cayo Central Summer camp inspires next generation of Belizean farmers
By Zoila Palma: The Cayo Central Youth in Agriculture Summer Camp officially got underway this morning at Central Farm, bringing together young participants for a week of learning and hands-on agricultural activities.
The camp opened with a brief ceremony where Cayo Central Area Representative and Minister of State in the Ministry of Agriculture, Luis Alex Balona, encouraged the youths to explore opportunities in agriculture and highlighted the importance of the sector to Belize’s future.
Following the opening remarks, participants were divided into groups and began the first day of activities.
Throughout the week, the campers will take part in both classroom sessions and practical training in areas including horticulture and aquaculture, gaining valuable knowledge and skills in modern agriculture.
