National Service personnel questions GH¢ 60 monthly deductions from allowances for purported capacity-building programme without consultation

A group said to be representing some national service personnel has questioned the decision to deduct GH¢60 from their monthly allowances for a capacity-building programme being organised by the National Service Personnel Assocation (NASPA) without consulting them. According to the group, the deduction, which was happening at source even before their allowances were credited to their accounts, was unjustified and was therefore demanding transparency and accountability. Describing themselves as the Concerned National Service Personnel Association of Ghana, the group in a press statement issued on July 20, 2026, said that while it supports initiatives that empower service personnel, no compulsory deduction should be imposed without a clear legal basis, transparency, and accountability.
