Council quizzed on treating Japanese knotweed in Limerick estate

THE Council was quizzed about its action plan to treat Japanese knotweed in Janesboro’s Boro Park and other areas in the Metropolitan District. In response to Fine Gael councillor Sarah Kiely at the recent area meeting, the local authority explained that all Japanese knotweed identified is reported to an appointed specialist contractor. Cllr Kiely was informed that it is then treated until it has been successfully destroyed – generally over a five-six year period. “Boro Park is currently on this list and continues to be treated. Please note that during treatment, and while treatment is in hand, living parts remain visible for a number of years.” The post Council quizzed on treating Japanese knotweed in Limerick estate appeared first on Limerick Post.
