Police investigate beauty clinics over suspected use of unauthorised medicines
Police in Finland are investigating three beauty treatment companies in the Helsinki metropolitan area over suspected use of medicines that do not hold approval for use in the country during cosmetic injection procedures. The inquiry also covers the safety and compliance of medical devices used by the businesses.
The investigation, led by Sari Knaapi, Detective Chief Inspector at West Uusimaa Police, focuses on three companies operated by the same owners. Investigators believe the suspected offences took place over the past few years.
