Child killed by bus at pedestrian crossing in Turku

A pre-school child died after a collision with a bus at a pedestrian crossing in Turku on Wednesday evening. The incident took place shortly after 8pm at the junction of Littoistentie and Karvataskunkatu in the Varissuo district. Police said the child died at the scene after being struck by a bus while crossing at a marked pedestrian crossing. Southwest Finland Police have launched a death investigation and are also examining the case as suspected aggravated traffic endangerment and aggravated causing of death.
