PM Hun Manet: Knong Psar, Te Teuk Pus Visits Aimed at Assessing Development on the Ground
(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet said his recent visits to Knong Psar and Te Teuk Pus in Kampong Speu were to personally inspect development projects and assess progress on the ground, rather than relying solely on reports.
The premier spoke on Wednesday (Jun. 3) while presiding over the inauguration of new achievements at the National Institute of Physical Education and Sport in Phnom Penh.
He dismissed social media claims that the trip was recreational, explaining that he met with community leaders, reviewed local needs, and provided guidance to strengthen community-based tourism development.
Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet noted that Te Teuk Pus has strong tourism potential due to its growing number of visitors. He also recalled a March 2025 visit to Knong Psar, after which he directed authorities to develop the area into a model community that generates sustainable income for local residents.
He underscored that development must benefit local communities and that private investment should support tourism growth without compromising community interests.=FRESH NEWS
